DOUG SAUBY OF KCAL-TV PASSES AWAY
(As Reported June 17th, 2003 in the CGC Communicator)

I was married to Doug for 16 years, and am the mother of his two children.  Despite our differences, I know that he was an excellent engineer, and that he seemed to truly enjoy his position "on the mountain."

I am glad to hear that Doug was both well-liked and well-respected in your community.  Everyone should be remembered with respect and affection, and it seems that he is.

Doug's ashes are with his sisters in Florida, and we all pray that his soul is at peace.

I was very surprised and saddened to hear of Doug's passing.   I remember him in good health and cheery as always last time I was up at Mount Wilson.   Doug was always very helpful to us when we were servicing either KCAL's equipment or our ENG site.   If I called up there to have him look at an alarm or maybe switch something, he always was happy to help.   Doug always had something funny to add to conversations, I will remember him as the funny little guy with the headband.

I was saddened to hear of Doug Sauby's passing.  I had the opportunity to become acquainted with him while working at the KMEX transmitter site.  I remember him to be a fine engineer and good neighbor on Mt. Wilson.
